The Middle School at Stuart

Grades 6 through 8

Middle School is considered to be one of the most critical times in human development. This is especially true for young women, as they experience a variety of physical, emotional and academic changes and challenges. Every child has her own developmental timetable, and the Middle School program at Stuart endeavors to meet the needs of this ever-changing and maturing population. Stuart strives to provide every student with an environment that:

  • Promotes strong values
  • Provides emotional and academic support, and
  • Encourages a genuine passion for learning

In sixth through eighth grades, students move from a self-contained classroom setting toward more departmentalized learning centers that enable them to work cooperatively on subject-matter projects, as well as community and more global issues. In addition to the academic curriculum, community-service activities, athletic teams and after-school activities offer additional extracurricular opportunities.
