The Society of the Sacred Heart was founded more than 200 years ago for the sole purpose of educating women. Founded by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat in France, today’s Society is a vibrant international community of schools, all committed to educating the whole child.
While rigorous academics are stressed, the attention paid to the nurturing of a child’s spirit and values is the hallmark of a Sacred Heart education. From the very beginning, a Sacred Heart education has focused on each child’s total development. There is a deep commitment to:
- One’s relationship to God
- Intellectual curiosity
- Service to those in need
- Personal integrity, and
- Creating a sense of community
Stuart recognizes that its faculty is critical to the fulfillment of its mission of educating to the Goals and Criteria of the Sacred Heart . We seek candidates who exemplify and reflect these qualities in themselves, and who will accept the challenge of educating to those principles in an ever-changing world.
