Executive Officers
The President serves for a term of one year and runs the meetings, serves as liaison to the Administration and serves ex-officio on the Board of Trustees. The President Elect serves for a term of one year as a President-in-Training and becomes President of the Association the following year.
The Immediate Past President serves for a term of one year as an advisor to the President. The Treasurer is responsible for the management of SPA's finances, which include the SPA dues plus all the receipts from fundraising activities. The Secretary is responsible for keeping minutes of the meetings and also for correspondence.
There are four Vice Presidents on the Executive Council
- The VP/Communications works with the Public Relations office, keeping parents aware of happenings at Stuart.
- The VP/Education works with the Development and Public Relations offices, providing parents with information on educational and developmental issues and making them aware of Common Ground events.
- The VP/Outreach oversees the organization and follow-through of SPA's outreach efforts and informs the Stuart community of volunteer and outreach opportunities.
- The VP/Volunteers is responsible for coordinating parent volunteers for Stuart’s many events.
Board Representatives
There are two School Representatives from each division: Pre-School, Lower, Middle and Upper. Their two-year terms are staggered to ensure continuity. The School Representatives serve as liaisons between the parents, Class Parents, Heads of Schools and the Executive Council.
Get Involved
Open board positions are filled each spring for the following school year. New parents are especially encouraged to become involved by volunteering their time.
